Summit: The spiralling costs of back pain, helping you to sell more chairs

"Physiotherapists are concerned that the poor work habits revealed in their research, such as working in the same position for extended periods pose serious risks to health which can also cause huge costs for employers"

Back pain is a major cause of sickness and lost staff time in the UK industry. The chartered society of physiotherapists analysed this in an online poll and found that “of 1905 British workers aged over 18, more than two thirds of respondents (70 per cent) say they have experienced pain in their back, neck or upper limbs as a result of sitting at their desk or workstation” – CSP, 2010. They are concerned by the way in which we routinely ignore our health in our daily working lives, for more on this follow click here.

The summit posturemax range has been specifically designed with workplace back care in mind and many of you have expressed an interest in knowing more about what you can do to promote a ‘pain free workplace’, if you are already familiar with the posturmeax ranges you will know that they are the perfect seating for high intensity office environments where back pain is most likely to be a major problem, if not look here.

You will find that if you focus on back care and the issues around healthy sitting, opportunities to promote the posturemax range will naturally arise, after all “lost revenue from back pain costs UK businesses £624 million a year” - (health and safety executive)
